Tight fit

Going to keep it short.

Started the gym (well, the garage gym. Which involves a few third or fourth hand me downs that nice, normal gyms have regarded as a pile of crap) and this was what was on today’s playlist. Excuse the lack of depth I’m not going into about how amazing this music is. It’s 2am and I’m actually tired for once. This is F A N T A S T I C. I was planning to gush about the new Kollektiv Turmstrasse remix but that just isn’t happening tonight. Anyway. Enjoy.

Hype. Hype on hype. Who is that hype?

Emerging artists keeping their identity under wraps: shy and cautious, clever and calculated? Or are we as fans making a big deal out of the whole thing just because these bands don’t want 30 seconds prior to “Hi, I’m Jonathan from Spotify” and aren’t signed to a really fucking cool independent label with an even fucking cooler triangle shaped logo?

Ok anyway. Here I give you three artists who make both fantastic analog and digital music, and have by some means, kept some form of anonymity. Which to be honest, I kinda respect. Regardless of whether they are trying to be cool or just actually are quite modest.

(and none of it sounds like Burial)

This is quite a good read on the subject of the mysteriousness (and it’s an interview with WU LYF which is also good). I like this subject. Lots of angry people.

Beats and cheese

The Drum – Soft Flex Mixtape

Today I have a lot to do. Today I must resist the Mac monster. Well I can at least for 27 minutes and 13 seconds. Then again, I’m probably going to put this on again after it finishes in my usual pattern of rinsing mixes that I enjoy a great deal. And this one is really, really good. Pure cheese of the stinkiest production kind (and the stinkier the better, right).

Meanwhile I’ll be rolling/flailing around on the floor wondering why my clothes can’t just fold themselves and get the fuck in my wardrobe.
