Sigmafly [Σ-Fly]Love and a Life Left Uncertain

I am having to peel my fingers away from the bass control on this track. Underneath the distant, spaced mid/treble features that are scattered across the canvas here there is what feels like an underworld of big open bass which you can feel and picture before it makes the ears twitch. Produced to what feels like perfection and so unheard it’s appalling.

Going away for a month results in a lot of catching up to do. Having my speakers back has been an absolute godsend. And oh have I come back to some really good shit.

Cave Chorus Records has been open for business merely a few hours and already it’s looking tasty, with reviews popping up all over the blog scene. A collective of diverse and compelling electronic music, it is similar in many ways to the now well-established Pictures Music.

Have a listen to my favourite by Abe. An irresistible force of ascending ambient sounds and evocative moving image. Then check out the website and also some really cool videos. We’re talking ridiculous talent.

Got stuck on a post. Stumbled on this. I think it is really special.

Jed and Lucia‘s follow up to the Superhuman Heart album (listen to “The Park”, think Caribou + Isobel Campbell) is set to come out next week. It’s a complete evolution on their previous work. Listening to last year’s album, it gives woos and waves and sighs in a folky, electronia pop sort of manner. The Helium EP builds on that core foundation. Throwing in moody mannerisms with hot shuffles and cosmic textures (not to mention the fantastic remix by Letherette), it’s just so, so good.
