3 tracks for those long hot summer days of which Blackpool is currently void. Breezy French chansons singing the Clash’s ode to going out with a bang seems like asking James Blake to sing on a record produced by Phil Spector, a little bit wrong. Yet I am glad to report it works. It is effortless, elegant and still maintains that youthful rebellion of the original.

The second is Thievery Corporation- Lebanese Blonde. A heck of a lot of people have heard this but if you haven’t you’re in for a treat. This song has such a steady groove and begs for the correct listening mood, this can be achieved in a number of ways…

No idea what is being sung here, a testament to mood over words, brilliantly conceived, kudos Klaus Nomi, kudos. It sound bigger, bolder and more expansive than 99.9% of all the music I have ever heard, nothing is rushed its not the quick adrenaline hit of hearing a hook or melody its a slow wave of glorious-ness. (Must not get lost in hyperbole here).

I’m aware these are all slow burners but if you’re feeling right and there’s some sunshine or even better sunset then they are just about 3 of the most perfect songs that you can listen to.
