This is a love song.

I’m needing bloody symmetry, I need a normal landscape, painted by a normal paint brush, I want bland ideas with a whole lot more emotivity than you get with most of the risk-takers, I want to sit down and take courage from relation and communication, from the feeling that we’re all together on this one.  The lyrics follow the atmosphere of the track and sort of wash over me with an ease that water would be able to relate to if I were to immerse myself in a cold Swedish lake. I like this song entirely because it doesn’t possess that horribly coveted edge that makes bands feel confident they’ve got something special here. Angus and Julia Stone have their own interests close at heart, not mine, it’s more effective that way. Maybe it’s my weird concentration concerning aeroplanes that’d make this recommendation slightly biased, but then again, those aeroplane sorrows are entirely humane and highlight a horrible something that most people would have experienced, even if it’s just saying goodbye to a departing train that’s due to come back the next day; I think this recommendation is a sound one.  The song has nothing to do with the intentions of the train, nothing to do with that feeling; this song’s happy, like holidays-over-horizons-happy, like holding-hands-happy… Not happy? Then make the friggin effort : )
