Cloud Nothing are from Ohio. It’s never all about laughing manically; more about the hilariously life-like hysteria that takes ‘old of the muscles. This song is devishly cynical with not much positivity to shout for. It expresses the inadequacy one might feel against the labels and the multitude of fanatics that all wear comfortable things. We are comfortable too aren’t we? There’s no such thing as a cool kid, only the interpretation we make of normal people who seemingly fulfil an image to the precisest detail. Please! It’s not about what music we like, it’s not about what clothes we wear, it’s not about WHAT level we’re residing on; it’s just about how we like what we like and HOW we are what we are. We have all had musically-engrossed moments of solitude and I think that’s something to hang on to as a base of mutual love. Don’t be disheartened by the amount of plays you’ve clocked up – music is not money. It’s nature just like tall buildings or words in a book. Hey Cool Kid is perfectly electric with perfect ‘distortion/hazywords ratio’. It lets loose just like we all could if we wanted to. Good. And it makes me want to snooze away all the darkness into dreary-eyed high fives.
