Happy Easter! I’ve provided the mix for this week’s Sunday School. Hope you enjoy. Tracklist after the jump.
Finish Your Collapse & Stay for Breakfast – Broken Social Scene : Champions of wonderful instrumentals, it would be wrong if I didn’t include one of BBS’s songs. Finish Your Collapse reminds me of early mornings travelling in the summer, with the bright light and warm air just reaching you.
Kid’s A Loner – Cupp Cave: Another song that for me captures the essence of summer and feeling free. Stay in bed and lie in to this.
Pad Kontrol – Georgia Ann Muldrow: When I first heard this I was mesmerised by that loop and that piano. Lose yourself in this.
Susan’s House – Eels : This came on the radio the other day whilst I was at work. Xfm were doing a show dedicated to old songs from a certain year and the playlist was impecable. One of my all time favourites. Go get yourself a cup of tea.
Moon (The Slips Remix) – Bjork : I wanted to include some Bjork in this playlist but wasn’t sure whether to go old or new. This remix by The Slips is on the Bastards EP and one of the most energetic songs on my mix, but has just the right amount of energy for a Sunday. It will help get you out of bed, and on to making that roast dinner.
The Last Beat (House Mix) – Herbert : Definitely the most chilled out song on this mix. Forget the roast, grab a pint / glass of wine and sit down. Let everyone else make the roast while you relax to brilliant sounds of Herbert.
(All I Wanted Was to Make You) Feel Good – Bugge Wesseltoft : Following on from Herbert’s track, get yourself even deeper into calmness as Wesseltoft’s jazz floats around for eight minutes.
Feel Good Lost Reprise – Broken Social Scene : Again like Finish Your Collapse, this is so hazy and perfect for the rest of your Sunday soundtrack and a great way to end the day.
