After being on holiday in a derelict and barren part of Spain I return again with three wildly different songs.
Normally I would advocate adopting a position of wariness when someone says ‘hey listen to my friends music its really good’, lord knows we have all been lead down digital avenues of dreary indie in the name of loyalty to friends (a loyalty I myself often exploited in the name of thus far unachieved indie stardom) but in this case I make an exception. I assure you James’, alias Fugitive Orchestra, music is good and at the very least interesting. The lyrics are mature, able to convey drama without wailing hysterically or spelling out emotion with a black marker. There are some lovely turns of phrase- ‘there’s blood on your lapelle from where you cut yourself shaving’ has a nice realism to it. Musically it runs in the same veins as Richard Hawley, Andrew Bird and often Elvis Costello and he definitely borrows a bit of the Morrissey croon. He almost makes Lionel Richie bearable. The vast majority of his music is free so follow this link for more Buddy Holly on acid http://fugitiveorchestra.bandcamp.com/
